Precision Ag Specialist
Agricultural Consulting Services is one of the ten largest independent crop
consulting services in the United States and we are looking for highly motivated
individuals to become part of our team!
We are a Rochester, NY based company that has been committed to helping
farms across New York State and the Northeast for nearly 25 years. Agricultural Consulting Services is
rapidly expanding, and among our most recent positions that we are looking to
fill is that of a precision agriculture specialist.
As a precision agriculture specialist, you will use your agribusiness knowledge,
precision agriculture methods, GIS, and GPS mapping technology in many different
aspects of the agriculture industry. You'll work closely with farmers to both
demonstrate site-specific techniques, and help create technical solutions that
will aid in crop production and improve the efficiency of farm operations.
You’ll work with growers, custom applicators, consultants, and other agriculture
industry personnel to educate, define solutions and expand the use of precision
agriculture techniques and equipment.
Tasks may include:
- Creating and analyzing maps related to crop yield
- Creating variable rate application solutions
- Training growers on the uses of precision agriculture
equipment
- Aiding in the decision-making process surrounding precision
agriculture
- Troubleshooting GIS software and hardware at user site and on
the farm
Degree Requirements:
Four-year degree in agricultural technology, engineering, or related field
Skills Required:
- Strong Working Knowledge of Northeast Farming Systems
- Knowledge of basic concepts of precision agriculture
- Good analytical skills
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge and mastery of at least one of the following
AutoCAD, Arc View, John Deere’s GreenStar Apex, Farm Works or other agriculture
related GIS system.

Agricultural Engineer
Agricultural Consulting Services is currently seeking highly motivated individuals
to be part of our Engineering division. Qualifications include a background
in Construction, Agriculture, and / or Civil Engineering. Skills set should
include surveying, construction inspection, and computer background (programs you
will use include Autocad, Arcview, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel). Job
will involve working in an agricultural environment, and projects are located throughout
